Comiskey Group wins big at QHA Awards

June 4, 20263 min read

Queensland hospitality heavyweight Comiskey Group has taken home seven major wins at the 2026 Queensland Hotels Association Awards for Excellence, including Best Hotel Group Operator and Best Entertainment Venue for Eatons Hill Hotel.

The family-owned business was recognised across hotel operations, entertainment, dining, accommodation and retail liquor at the annual industry awards.

The result also saw brothers Rob Comiskey and David Comiskey jointly named Hotelier of the Year, one of Queensland hospitality’s major individual honours.

For Queensland’s live music sector, the big one is Eatons Hill Hotel taking out Best Entertainment Venue.

The venue has long been one of the state’s major live entertainment rooms, drawing large touring acts, festivals, events and hundreds of thousands of patrons each year.

Eatons Hill recognised for entertainment

The award places Eatons Hill Hotel among Queensland’s leading live entertainment destinations, adding another industry nod to a venue that continues to play a major role in the state’s touring circuit.

The Comiskey portfolio also includes Imperial Hotel Eumundi, Sandstone Point Hotel, Aura Hotel and the proposed Coochin Fields festival site, making the group one of Queensland’s most significant independent hospitality and live event operators.

The group’s accommodation arm was also recognised, with Imperial Hotel Boutique Accommodation named Best Hotel / Pub-Style Accommodation.

Seven wins for Comiskey Group

The 2026 QHA Awards result marks the second time Comiskey Group has been named Queensland’s Best Hotel Group Operator.

The group was recognised for excellence and innovation across its hotels, accommodation, entertainment venues and retail operations, while remaining family-owned and operated.

Dakabin Hotel also scored a first-time win, taking out Best Bistro Metropolitan for its dual-menu dining concept.

Bottlemart Superstore Eatons Hill was inducted into the QHA Hall of Fame for Best Retail Liquor Outlet after three consecutive wins in the category.
