In Pictures: Transvision Vamp @ Banana Bender Pub 14/2/26

February 18, 20261 min read

As Wendy James of Transvision Vamp took centre stage at Banana Bender Pub, the crowd fell into place knowing their cue. Following a long break from the spotlight, the UK pop-rock group is currently touring Australia for the first time in decades.

This was a room full of committed fans, like a big old high school reunion. Every chorus came back already sung by people who hadn’t let their hair down in years, with big numbers like “Baby I Don’t Care” and “I Want Your Love” pulling the crowd in for lines they clearly hadn’t forgotten.

The vocals wandered at times, but it didn’t matter. The audience carried the weight of the songs, singing word for word, and dancing like they’d been waiting for this moment for years.

Imperfect but affectionate, the connection between band and crowd was the real headline.
