The internet is in a twist amid claims Dave Grohl’s new baby daughter could be a Brisbane-ite.
Nine months ago the Foo Fighters frontman – still known then as the “nicest guy in rock” – took a break from touring to feed the homeless in Sydney (pictured).
His band was about to play their biggest Australian show at Sydney’s Accor Stadium to more than 75,000 people.
They had just wrapped up shows in Melbourne.
They finished their Australian tour in Brisbane on December 12.
The final show was almost 40 weeks ago to the day, which is the average length of human gestation.
National radio host Jackie O weighed into the debate, suggesting Dave shacked up with someone while Down Under.
The 55-year-old ex-Nirvana drummer is married to Jordyn Blum, and they have three daughters.
He announced the new addition via Instagram on Wednesday, making headlines around the world.
In a statement, he says: “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage.
“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.
“We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”
Fans have been divided on social media, with some saying the news is not a reason to stop playing his music.
Others say they won’t be listening to Foo Fighters anymore.
