Melbourne Ska Orchestra will bring their big-band ska party back to Queensland this September and October, with shows locked in for the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Cairns.
Melbourne Ska Orchestra have announced a national run of headline shows for their Monte Loco Rides Again tour, taking the ARIA Award-winning collective around Australia from August to October.
The tour follows the band’s 2025 album The Ballad Of Monte Loco, with a deluxe edition, Monte Loco Rides Again, also on the way.
Led by Nicky Bomba, the long-running ska and reggae powerhouse is known for its huge live shows, with up to 26 musicians spanning vocals, horns, keys, percussion, woodwind and more.
Bomba describes the current era as “Ennio Morricone meets a Tijuana dance floor,” with the upcoming shows set to bring the full MSO experience: costumes, horns, rhythm section and plenty of dancefloor heat.
Queensland fans can catch Melbourne Ska Orchestra at Kings Beach Tavern on the Sunshine Coast on Thursday, September 17, Crowbar in Brisbane on Saturday, September 19, and Tanks Arts Centre in Cairns on Saturday, October 24.
The tour also includes a special Melbourne show with Mexico’s Out Of Control Army, following the two bands’ shared shows in Mexico in 2024.
Tickets for Melbourne Ska Orchestra’s Monte Loco Rides Again tour are on sale now via melbourneskaorchestra.com.
