Karma Police will bring their rising 90s alt-rock sound to Peregian Beach Hotel after a breakout run of radio play, festival slots and regional wins. The band joins a solid local lineup at the beachside pub this month.

With a sound sitting somewhere in the messy, melodic world of 90s grunge and alternative rock, Karma Police have moved quickly from youth-band-buzz to one of the region’s most exciting live acts.

William McWha, Isaac Green, Willem Brennan and Madison Grose, who make up the teenage four-piece, have already enjoyed a strong start with their debut single “Getaway”. The song was picked up across triple j Unearthed Radio, 4ZZZ’s Zed Digital, Triple FM Brisbane, and ABC stations on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

The group has also performed two live in-studio sessions, adding more weight to a year that has seen the band step well beyond their “emerging act” status.

On stage, Karma Police have shared line-ups with The Superjesus, Chamberlane and Charm of Finches, while also appearing at venues and festivals including Solbar, The Presynct, The MET, Nurture Festival, Noosa Come Together Festival and Noosa Stars Alive.

Their 2025 run included a win for Best Original Song at the Aura Youth Fest Battle of the Bands, which earned them studio time at Yama-Nui Recording Studio, where “Getaway” was recorded.

The band went on to win two more regional competitions, building momentum around a band that already feels bigger than its years.

Karma Police are now heading into Airlock Studios with producer Cody McWaters to record their debut EP, set for release in 2026.

Catch their live show in full flight at Peregian Beach Hotel on Sunday from 3pm.
