Noosaville: MORPH is a mini arts festival which brings together a variety of local multidisciplinary artists to celebrate the creative community on September 16.
And as the name suggests it reinvents itself every year.
This year there will be fine art from 40 global artists, live music from local Argentinian Chucho Bruno’s Karaka Orchestra (pictured), a DJ set from fellow latino Sebastian Ramirez, and a panel discussion with arts and music magazine, The Shelter.
There will also be food, drinks and the opportunity to bring the arts community together for a bit of hobnobbing, celebration, togetherness, and most of all – fun!
KARAKA ORCHESTRA:
This live percussion and melodic experience, conducted by @chuchobruno, explores body, rhythm, and creative skills through music improvisation.
It is an inclusive method of making music that mixes different levels of musicians in one big band with everyone able to work and progress at their own level.
Chucho Bruno conducts the class, using a language with signs from Argentina created for conducting a music improvisation.
They explore different rhythms from around the world and learn about music theory in a never-so-dull way.
SHLTR TV:
This interview and panel discussion, hosted by photographer and art director @mica_schettini, will feature @aaronjcraig, the founder of @Stupidkrap, an Australian online gallery of fine arts, and artist @alison_mooney.
BRIGHTSIDE ART EXHIBITION:
@StupidKrap is an online gallery that releases original and limited edition artworks, prints and all types of artist’s design products, by some of the world’s most exciting and collectable contemporary artists world-wide. On this occasion 40 artists from around the globe will feature their work.
DJ SET:
@_seba_stian has a mixture of rhythms, described as techno by a latino. You can feel the drops and the highs, and damn does he know how to make a party! This time Sebastian will be experimenting with new tracks and some live improv with @karaka.orchestra.
MORPH is on Saturday, September 16 from 4pm-midnight at Sun City Gallery and Photography Studio, 22 Project Ave, Noosaville. Tickets: https://events.humanitix.com/morph-brightside-x-stupidcrap. Kids under 12 are free.
Your ticket helps bring together this wonderful community of local artists and 100 per cent of booking fees are donated to children’s charities.
