Sunshine Coast-based singer-songwriter Che Burns will bring his soulful, guitar-driven live show to Peregian Beach Hotel on May 29.

Che Burns joins a busy May program with live music and DJ sessions running across Friday evenings, Saturday afternoons and Sunday sessions throughout the month.

This month’s lineup also includes Skillz, DJ Ryskee, Ampersand, Jason Daniels, Jesse Taylor, Saltburn, Christian Patey, Shannon Sol Carroll, Ria Ritchie and Zac Threads, with the venue continuing to back regular local live music just behind the dunes at Peregian Beach.

Che Burns brings coastal soul to Peregian Beach Hotel

Che Burns is one of the Coast’s strongest names in music right now, with a raw, stripped-back sound that lands somewhere between soul, indie and acoustic folk.

After cutting his teeth on the local circuit and spending time away from the Coast, Burns has returned with a more seasoned and self-assured sound.

His standout track “Devil Like You” has passed a staggering 364,000 plays on Spotify, while the recently released “sleeping beside (demo)” has received more than 96,000 streams.

His music has featured on ABC Sunshine Coast through YELO’s local music segment and on triple j Unearthed, with songs including “Falling Back” and “The Way It Feels”.

This show is proof that local live music is thriving in smaller rooms and pubs, with strong original artists bringing real momentum to stages close to home.
