YELO music photographer and live gig enthusiast Ben Russoniello tells it how it is when he saw Chamber Lane at The Presynct, supported by Ball Point Music and Sailing in Space.
Nambour: It wasn’t a hard decision to decide where I would head off to for the night with Chamber Lane headlining at the Sunshine Coast’s newest music venue, The Presynct.
A stunning little steam punk-inspired venue in Nambour. If you haven’t been yet, you are missing out!
I was a little excited, because Chamber Lane always brings the fun.

Ball Point Music had opening duties. Loud, heavy handed, out of time, and BLOODY FUN!
This band reminded me of every young band I’ve ever known, having a crack at this music thing we all love so much.
Full of passion, they made me smile. The real highlight of their set for me was a Ramones cover of “Blitzkrieg Bop”.
They rocked it!
The crowd loved it and Connor the lead singer of Chamber Lane loved it so much he couldn’t help but jump up on stage and singalong with the youngsters.
It was this song that set the energetic tone for the night.
Keep your eyes on Ball Point Music as they discover their sound and grow as musicians, they’ve got the building blocks to something very cool. Except I will just say, some of your guests could be a bit more respectful…

Up next! Sailing in Space.
One would be forgiven for thinking this band didn’t belong at a rock show, because let’s be real it’s alt-pop. But I was so wrong.
These guys are out of this world.
Their electro-pop rock sounds permeate into your being, you just want to dance!
Decked out in space suits, this tyrannical trio are a fantastic bunch of musicians that danced and sang through their set having the time of their lives and the punters followed suit.
Listening to them perform “Cheap Suits” even had me wanting to boogie along with the band.
And those that know me know I don’t dance.
The main event: Chamber Lane!
Finally the kool kidz took the stage and kicked off with their trademark jam/breakdown before jumping straight into the crowd favourite, “4PM”.

You can tell this indie-punk outfit mean business: they are well rehearsed and on point!
After a few of their own songs, Seth the drummer trades places with a familiar face… Bailey!
This guy can drum.
Drumming for Sailing in Space, Banned from the Club and Dellacoma to name a few.
Bailey also writes original music and recently collaborated with the Chamber Lane crew on a new song called “Grown Up”.
I had come to terms with that fact I may never hear this one live, oh how happy I was to hear the lead guitar intro to this banger!

Back to the regular programming and Chamber Lane continued to show the punters they meant business.
A shirtless Seth on drums looking like Animal from the Muppets.
A topless Kaine is on lead guitar, and crowd walks from bass player Josiah showing the crowd that bass is always cooler than lead.
Not one beat missed from the guy who was born to be a front man, Connor Hanson, with his punk rock high kicks, Jagger-like moves and charisma that makes you unable to take your eyes of him.

As the set list drew closer to the end, a perfectly placed Offspring cover of “Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)” whipped the punters back into a frenzy.
This energy only grew into the last two songs “Love is 4 losers” and their newest single “Liana” bringing the night to an end with every word being screamed back at the band, as they sang and danced and had the time of their lives.
Chamber Lane is setting themselves up to be indie-punk icons over the next few years, putting on a quality show every time.
I can’t wait to see what comes next from these legends.
