Kingscliff: Freemantle indie-pop trio San Cisco will come armed with a new summer song when they play at The Kingy on Thursday night.
Renowned for their energetic and fun live performances, it’s a nine-stop show for the group starting off in Kingscliff followed by Woolloongabba’s The Princess Theatre on November 3.
The Triple J crowd-pleasers will play infectious new single, “Under the Light”, which gives off all those sun-drenched, dance-anthem vibes.
Co-written with Jay Watson from Tame Impala, the song careens with piston-like motorik momentum, striking the delicate balance between euphoria and melancholy.
Teasing a forthcoming record, the song only adds to the anticipation for what’s to come from the band as they enter a new phase of maturity, vulnerability and experimentation.
“This is going to be our first proper run of shows in some time and to be honest, we are just really excited to show off our new songs in real life! It’s our favourite part of the whole being-in-a-band thing,” they said.
With an illustrious ten-year career, San Cisco has become one of Australia’s most successful independent artists amassing multiple accolades and millions of streams, with more than 600,000 monthly Spotify users.
They have four studio-albums and played at major festivals world-wide including; Splendour In The Grass, Lollapalooza, Reading, and Leeds.
Their most recent album, Between You and Me, released in late 2020, ranked third in the ARIA Album Charts and featured Triple J Hottest 100 charting singles, “When I Dream” and “Skin”.
Emerging artist Noah Dillon, who also hails from the famous port city, is joining them on tour.
Kingscliff Beach Hotel has a host of big music shows coming up such The Angels on November 17 and Illy on December 1.
