Sunshine Coast music industry leaders are set to converge in Nambour

September 30, 20253 min read

Nambour is set to host the 12th instalment of leading regional music industry event Turn Up at The Presynct on October 23.

Presented by Turn Up Event and Oztix, the conference is where musicians, industry workers and music lovers, come together to connect, celebrate, share knowledge and swap stories.

Big names such as TV personality Ian “Dicko” Dickson (main picture) and iconic Toombul Music businessman Barry Bull OAM (pictured) will speak at the event.

Joining them are renowned festival organisers Mark Pico, of Big Pineapple Festival, and Amanda Jackes, from Woodford Folk Festival.

Solbar’s Melissa O’Bryan and Brodie Popple from Oztix also form part of the event.

This year’s program includes two In Conversation panels, which bring dynamic and interactive discussions from leading industry voices.

Topics include include “Cultivating Success: Growing Your Music Career” and “One Stage, Many Journeys: Festivals & Industry Impact”.

These sessions are designed to spark open conversation, and attendees are invited to ask questions and participate.

Alongside the panels, there will be roundtable networking where artists and professionals can connect directly.

Plus there will be a live show from Elke Louie.

Turn up celebrates ‘local vibrant music scene’

Program director Eloise Brock says Turn Up brings together music professionals to connect, share stories, and celebrate the local vibrant music scene.

“This year, we’re focusing on career sustainability and the role festivals play in shaping music culture,” Eloise says.

“It’s an intimate event where you can listen, learn and ask questions of music industry leaders, interact with likeminded people and walk away with new ideas and connections.”

Michael Chugg, of Chugg Entertainment, says the conference is particularly important for South-East Queensland regional industry workers.

“The whole southern Queensland area has been a good nursery for young musicians and young industry people.”
