The Amity Affliction sell out Coolum show as new album is released

February 6, 20261 min read

Gympie-born heavyweights The Amity Affliction have sold out their Sunshine Coast show at Blackflag Brewing coinciding with the release of their ninth studio album House of Cards.

The February 13 gig marks a significant return for the band to the region following their appearance at the Big Pineapple Music Festival in 2024.

Now one of Australia’s most successful heavy exports, The Amity Affliction are touring nationally with In Hearts Wake and Redhook. The new album arrives at a moment of strong demand, with regional dates selling out across the country.

Originally scheduled for The Station before its January 2 closure, the show was picked up by local venues, with the Coolum venue stepping in to accommodate several larger touring acts including Transvision Vamp on February 14.

House of Cards will be released on April 24 and is the first full-length outing from the band since vocalist Jonny Reeves became a permanent addition in 2025.

The early sell-out offers a timely boost for the region’s live music economy, which has taken several blows in recent months.

For local fans, the packed Coolum date and new album release combines for a standout moment, reflecting the band’s continued connection with Queensland audiences since their early days.
