Pioneers of the electronic dance music (EDM) scene The Prodigy will play four shows when they return to Australia next year.

With their Sydney show already sold out, the band has added a second show on February 14.

The English fusion-rock stars, known to bring ravers and metal-heads together, will also perform at Brisbane’s Riverstage on February 16.

This iconic film clip of hit song, “Breathe”, has had more than 100m views.

It’s been five years since the tragic passing of vocalist Keith Flint, whose voice is recognisable in the group’s 1996 hits, “Firestarter”, and “Breathe”.

The band had only been touring Australia weeks prior to his non-suspicious death.

Liam Howlett and Maxim Reality, who started the group with Keith and Leeroy Thornhill in 1990, are the two remaining members.

Maxim said at the time that Keith could never be replaced.

Leeroy left in 2000 to concentrate on his DJ career.

The Prodigy come armed with seven albums and a reputation as one of the world’s most visceral and incendiary live bands.
