Caloundra and Miami: Aussie acid-jazz cruisers The Rubens is on the road as part of a 14-date summer tour and will be at Kings Beach Tavern on January 4 and Miami Marketta on January 5.
The award-winning, pop-rock group is promoting new single, “Good Mood”, and will headline their hometown festival, ValleyWays, in Camden on February 17.
They join other major artists at ValleyWays: Grinspoon, Ball Park Music, Ruby Fields, Coterie, and Srirachi.
With a chill DJ backing, synths, soft-piano, and gentle vocals, this five-piece outfit comprises of three Margin brothers Zaac, Sam and Elliott, and their friends Scott Baldwin and William Zeglis.
Supporting their Good Mood Tour, at Caloundra and Miami, is kiwi-turned-Sunny-Coast band, Day We Ran.
Debut and self-titled album, The Rubens, gained domestic success reaching number three on the ARIA charts and even nabbed a Triple J Album of the Year Award.
“Pets and Drugs” is the band’s latest album since its 2021 number-one, ARIA-charting fourth album, 0202.
It was nominated for the prestigious Australian Music Prize (AMP) and has had album tracks “Live In Life” and “Masterpiece’ certified, four-times platinum, and platinum, respectively, in Australia.
The Rubens will be in Caloundra at Kings Beach Tavern on January 4.
And at Miami Marketta, 23 Hillcrest Parade, Miami, Gold Coast on January 5.
