Violent Soho are reuniting.
After four years away from the stage, the Ipswich band have announced a three-date Australian reunion, including a Brisbane show at Fortitude Music Hall on Friday September 25.
The signs were already there. Reunion talk started building in March when blink-182’s Mark Hoppus told a Sydney Opera House crowd that Violent Soho were getting back together, before Luke Boerdam and James Tidswell joined him on stage for an acoustic “Dammit.”
For many fans, it is the news they had been quietly hoping for. Violent Soho have remained one of Queensland’s defining heavy bands, even while stepping back from touring and recording in recent years.
The run will take in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, with the Queensland date closing out the band’s return.
Only three shows have been announced

It is a short run, but a weighty one.
Violent Soho will play Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, with Queensland favourites Beddy Rays joining all three dates. Teenage Joans and Secret World will appear on select shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
While the reunion is small in numbers, the impact feels much bigger.
Violent Soho have long been regarded as one of Australia’s most important alternative rock bands of the past decade. Albums like Hungry Ghost and WACO helped define a generation of loud, raw guitar music that felt distinctly Australian.
For Brisbane audiences, the final stop carries extra weight.
Brisbane gets the final stop
This is not just another tour date.
Violent Soho formed in Queensland and built much of their early momentum through relentless touring and packed local rooms. Over the years, they grew from sweaty club shows into major festival slots and national chart success, but their connection to this part of the world never disappeared.
Seeing them return to a major Brisbane room like Fortitude Music Hall gives the final show extra weight.
It marks the band’s first live return in four years.
Whether the reunion leads to more touring or new material remains to be seen. For now, the announcement itself is enough to make this feel bigger than a standard tour drop.
And in Brisbane, that energy will land loud.
