3 Sunshine Coast artists going viral in 2025

August 7, 20252 min read

If you’ve been living under a rock these three Sunshine Coast artists will inspire you to resurrect yourself in the music scene. Stat.

These three emerging Sunshine Coast artists are taking the world by storm in 2025.

1. Phil and The Blanks

Just five weeks after their first social media post, the Phils have shot to overnight stardom with debut single “GOOD BOY”. Featuring diabolical lyrics such as “I’m coming home in an ambulance mate”, the kooky eshays in BCF fishing tees already have 100,000+ monthly Spotify streams. Take a listen. All this fuss over one song, imagine what will happen when they release more. Speaking of which, bring it on boys!

2. Calan Mai

You’ve probably seen them spinning each other around in local parks, singing about life’s ups and downs over a can of Sunshine Coast beer and a snag sandwich. Or maybe you’ve seen frontman Jordy’s hilariously dry reels on the banality of our existence. When Jordy’s not taking his angst out on his cat, it’s all sunshine and banksias for Calan Mai who have just released their best song to date, “Love Me To Death”.

Call them pineapple-indie, sardonic-suburban-soul, or quirky Australiana-folk, just don’t confuse them with a common seafood counter meal.

3. Chamber Lane

No you’re not seeing double, or triple, even. Phil and The Blanks frontman Connor Hanson is also the lead singer of punk-rock local favourites, Chamber Lane. While bass-playing virtuoso Josiah Niven features in all three. The boys have a new banger “Lost & Found” with a more alt-indie flavour. It offers all the hallmarks of a juicy, summer anthem which will have you singing your heart out with your bestie at the local pub.

Catch Chamber Lane at Solbar when they support teenager rockers the Wave Raiders on August 17 (all-ages). Tickets here.
