US rockstars Goo Goo Dolls will perform in Brisbane in February as part of their first national headlining tour in under 20 years.
The New York band was in the country earlier this year supporting Matchbox 20.
They will also perform shows in Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide, and Melbourne, and Wollongong’s Yours and Owls Festival.
The Grammy-nominated rock giants shot to fame with their global smash hit, “Iris”, which featured in the 1998 movie “City of Angels”.
The song enjoyed a resurgence in recent times on social media, which pushed the song back into the Billboard charts.
Managing Director of TEG Van Egmond, Christo Van Egmond, says after seeing the Goo Goo Dolls play with Matchbox 20 he “couldn’t book them to return to our shores soon enough”.
“Their brilliant back catalogue of pop-rock hits are the perfect blend of nostalgia-inducing and hope-inspiring for fans young and old,” Christo says.
“I believe this will be the feel-good tour of the summer.”
Goo Goo Dolls will be joined by Aussie rock legends Thirsty Merc.
