Harley searches for reassurance in new song ‘Tell Me You Love Me’

June 19, 20262 min read

Brisbane artist Harley is turning the need for reassurance into bright, restless indie rock in his first single for 2026 with “Tell Me You Love Me”.

The track follows a run of previous singles including “Depths”, “Those Eyes”, “What Do I Know” and “Give Me Something”, with Harley building his presence across Southeast Queensland stages since launching the project in 2021.

Harley has shared stages with Models and Marvell, performed at Bluesfest in 2024, and developed a sound shaped by indie rock, folk and blues.

On “Tell Me You Love Me”,” Harley leans into the anxious edge of needing to hear the words out loud. The song is written from the perspective of someone looking for reassurance when affection starts to feel uncertain.

But Harley said the song also carries a second meaning.

“‘Tell Me You Love Me’ is a search for validation and fulfilment,” he said.

“Something I think we all feel but instead put on a brave face and ignore. However, I love when songs have double meanings and can be interpreted by the listener in multiple ways.

“I think for me the song serves in the light of a musician searching for fans and validation. Seeking sold out shows, people who truly connect with the music and perhaps the strength to be unapologetically goofy and weird.”

The single is out today, followed by an official debut EP announcement, with lead single “Gold” expected at the end of July.
