Alex by the Sea 2026: Beddy Rays + The Buoys Announced

February 12, 20263 min read

Beddy Rays. The Buoys. Letters to Lions. Vlads. Camino Gold.

That’s how Alex by the Sea 2026 is kicking off winter on the Sunshine Coast, landing June 6 and 7 at Alexandra Headland’s Bluff Bar.

Day One brings one of the strongest indie and surf-rock lineups the coast has seen. Headlined by Beddy Rays, the lineup also features The Buoys, Letters to Lions, Vlads and Camino Gold – plus a soon-to-be-revealed special guest.

Day Two shifts into crowd-favourite nostalgia, celebrating the music of Fleetwood Mac, INXS and Queen, before Australian music icon Ross Wilson closes out the weekend.

New for 2026, the festival is launching a local artist competition, inviting local indie acts to submit an original track for the chance to open Day One.

Take a look back at the scenes from Alex by the Sea 2025.

Every ticket supports local lifesaving club

Presented by the Alexandra Headland Surf Life Saving Club, the two-day coastal music festival blends live bands, emerging local artists and a whole lot of beachside fun. Expect pop-up bars, premium hospitality, food trucks and live music, just steps from the sand.

Every ticket sold directly supports surf lifesaving services, volunteer training and youth development programs on the beach.

Alex Surf Club General Manager Helen Butler says every celebration at the club “carries purpose.”

“Alex by the Sea is about bringing people together for great music and great memories, while directly supporting the volunteers who keep our coastline safe.

“Each year we’re welcoming more visitors, supporting more local artists, and contributing to tourism on the Sunshine Coast.

“Our goal is to keep building something that benefits the entire community.”

Self-confessed ‘bedroom artist’ Jemzel, who played at the event last year, says it’s great to be able to perform in her own community.

“I feel really privileged to have this experience, here on home soil on the Sunshine Coast, and to be part of such an awesome line-up,” she says.

“I’m someone who was in their bedroom playing a bit of music to be able to play a festival.”

Further lineup announcements and ticketing details to be released soon. Keep an eye on the Alex Surf Club website for more details.
