The bad weather has held off for the Sunshine Coast’s first-ever Bluff Fest at Alex Surf Club on Saturday.

Around 1200 punters came to see Australian rock legends The Grogans, The Terrys and Shag Rock headline the festival.

Local emerging acts Nana’s Pie, Brook Street, Emily Rink, and Karlou also helped celebrate the fun.

The event formed part of the club’s 100-year celebrations with today’s free community event sadly cancelled due to severe weather.

Selling out in four days, the surf-rock festival was the first of its kind for the Alexandra Headland surf club.

Organisers are hoping to hold more festivals, and potentially bigger and more frequent ones.

Bluff Fest will be a vital fundraiser for the club with money raised used to protect beach-goers.

Thanks to everyone who came to say hi to us at Yelo Mag this year! We hope to see you at more events soon. Stay yelo, Sunny Coast!

Alex Surf Club Bluff Fest 2024 Outtakes

Club’s pop-up beach bar is a hit with locals

Don’t forget the Alex Surf Club has a pop-up beach bar, which will run over six weekends this summer.

Visitors can enjoy beach-front views and stay hydrated, as they unwind and take in the stunning views.

The bar was open during Bluff Fest with many locals hoping it will become a more permanent feature.

Serving up delicious beverages from local breweries including Diablo, it has live music from Friday to Sunday, on selected weekends.

Keep an eye on the club’s website for more dates.
