Australian Idol star 19yo Marshall Hamburger in TV show’s top 8

March 23, 20252 min read

Sunshine Coast musician Marshall Hamburger has made it to the top of eight of Channel Seven TV show Australian Idol.

The 19-year-old joins fellow local acts, and husband-and-wife duo, Chris Ah Gee and Jazzella, who have since been voted off the show.

Chris, a guitar technician at Mooloolaba Music, reached the show’s top 21, while Jazzella, whose new song is aptly titled “My Idol”, reached the top 30.

Maroochydore’s Tyler Hammill, now the frontman of popular band Nana’s Pie, made it to the show’s top 12 last year.

But it’s all eyes on fabulous piano-man Marshall Hamburger tonight, when he performs in one of the show’s final rounds.

Marshall Hamburger brings musical background to show

Hailing from Doonan in the Noosa hinterland, Marshall is from a well-known musical family, who run a music school.

Hamburger Music Productions has schooled many emerging acts, and are throwing everything behind Marshall’s success.

“Sunday is when you need to vote for our beautiful boy,” they posted on social media.

“Voting opens @ 7pm Sunday night and is open for 24hours. 10 x votes per phone per show. This show is won on votes so please SHARE this Post with everyone you know and remember to VOTE!

“Thank-you everyone for all the love you are sending to our boy. He is truely humbled by the amount of support he is receiving.”

Performing Daryl Braithwaite’s “As the Days Go By”, Marshall received strong support from judges Marcia Hines, Kyle Sandilands and Amy Shark.

Shark, who calls him “mesmerising” in the show, says his performance was one of the “best” she’s seen.

Marshall has also performed other fabulous renditions including “Benny and the Jets” by Elton John.

Don’t miss Australian Idol tonight when Marshall Hamburger returns.

Viewers will choose which songs the top 8 will perform.

The finalists are vying for a $100,000 in major prize, which includes a recording package with Hive Sound Studios.
