US alt-metal legends Deftones will bring new music to Australia and NZ next May for the first time in almost a decade.
The Down Under tour kicks off with two shows at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, from May 2-3, before they play at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane on May 6.
The multi-platinum Grammy Award-winning group then continue to Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena for two more shows from May 9-10, finishing off at Auckland’s Spark Arena on May 13.
Supporting them are Ecca Vandal and Interpol at each stop of the tour.
Deftones, along with Limp Bizkit, have long been considered disciples of Korn, but it turns out they’ve been around just as long.
They first formed in Sacramento in 1988, when Stephen Carpenter (guitar), Abe Cunningham (drums), and Chino Moreno (vocals) started jamming in high school.
Deftones have since delivered a succession of influential releases, selling more than 10 million records globally, and garnering more than 10 billion streams.
General public tickets go on sale at 2pm on November 21.
Mastercard and Westpac NZ pre-sales run from 1pm on November 18, before a Live Nation pre-sale begins at 1pm on November 20.
Register for Live Nation’s presale here (Australia) or here (NZ).
