DJ Fisher breaks Hollywood Boulevard and national TV on same day

October 25, 20232 min read

World: Gold Coast DJ Paul Fisher has shut down Hollywood Boulevard for a ticketed event which saw 12,000 people take over the famous Los Angeles strip.

Fisher joined British electronic music producer and DJ Chris Lake for a sold-out set, “Under Construction”, at the iconic star-studded street where they played atop an ocean-themed stage, Titanic’s End, which was made famous at Burning Man 2022 festival.

With the producers of Coachella, Goldenvoice, and cutting-edge events firm, Framework, Fisher and his team pulled off the historical music show which brought bespoke festival production to the heart of Tinseltown.

Picture: Tickets to the event started from $125.

The sounds of Marvel god “Thor”, AKA Australian actor and Byron Bay local Chris Hemsworth, could be heard echoing throughout the streets with the house-music superstars recruiting Hemsworth to record a custom introduction for their set.

And in the good old-fashioned Aussie way Hemsworth threw in a playful jibe for the assignment, poking fun at DJ Fisher’s head, which he called “as bald as a full moon in the sky.”

“They looked at each other with stars in their eyes and said, ‘Build it and they shall come’,” the voice-over said.

“Well, it turns out dreams do come true because these dickheads pulled it off.”

Fisher had previously been on national breakfast show, The Today Show, with hosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo when he also pushed the envelope.

The panel was interviewing the 36-year-old when Stefanovic asked Fisher do his trademark tongue squeal.

When Stefanovic tried mimicking the strange noise he said his tongue was too short.

Fisher served up a not-so-suitable-for-family-viewing joke saying: “Karl, I feel for your woman”.

But The Today hosts lapped it up and were sent into hysterics with Abo remarking: “I hope Jas isn’t listening,” referring to Stefanovic’s wife Jasmine.

Fisher told fans on October 21 his US street-shut down show was going to be “madness”.

“We are doing something that’s never been done before in LA.”
