Gold Coast DJ Fisher has shut down Hollywood Boulevard and the internet on the same day.
The televised event saw 12,000 people take over the famous Los Angeles strip in the US.
Fisher joined British electronic music producer and DJ Chris Lake for a sold-out set, “Under Construction”.
It all unfolded at the iconic star-studded street where they played atop an ocean-themed stage, Titanic’s End. The stage was made famous at Burning Man festival in 2022.
Fisher worked tirelessly with the producers from Coachella and Goldenvoice. And also his friends at Framework, to bring the bespoke festival to the heart of Tinseltown.
The voice of Marvel god “Thor”, played by Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, began bellowing through loud speakers on the street. And anticipation began to stir in the crowd at the $125 event.
The house-music superstars recruited Liam to record a custom introduction for their set.
Liam makes a playful jibe during the voice-over part, mocking Fisher’s bald head. He can be heard saying it’s “as bald as a full-moon in the sky.”
“They looked at each other with stars in their eyes and said, ‘Build it and they shall come’,” he says. “Well, it turns out dreams do come true because these dickheads pulled it off.”
Fisher promotes the event on morning TV with Karl Stefanovic
Fisher was promoting the event on national breakfast TV show, The Today Show, with hosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo.
The panel were interviewing the 36-year-old when Karl asks Fisher to do his trademark tongue squeal.
When Karl tries to mimick the noise he says his tongue is “too short”.
Fisher then serves up a not-so-suitable-for-family-viewing joke saying: “Karl, I feel for your woman”.
But The Today hosts laps it up and are sent into hysterics with Sarah saying: “I hope Jas isn’t listening,”. He was referring to Karl’s wife, Jasmine.
Fisher told fans on October 21 that his Hollywood Boulevard shut down show was going to be “madness”.
“We are doing something that’s never been done before in LA.”
And he did.
