National: Funk-soul brothers Fun Lovin’ Criminals will tour the country to celebrate the 25-year anniversary of the band’s second studio-album, 100% Columbian, with tickets released today.
As part of their Australian and New Zealand tour, they will play the entire album – which brought fans “Love Unlimited” – stopping by The Triffid in Brisbane and Burleigh Bazaar on the Gold Coast.
The boys from NYC – known more widely for songs, “Scooby Snacks” and “The Fun Lovin’ Criminal”, which combined have 44 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone – will play all the fan favourites.
Noticeably absent will be original band member Huey Morgan who left the group in 2021.
Morgan said on X/Twitter this week: “for the record I’m not in the @funlovincrims anymore. It’s the original keyboard player pretending to be me and 2 guys from leicester. sad & creepy tribute act now y’all.”
Ouch!
The new Fun Lovin’ Criminals is a trio comprising Brian ‘Fast’ Leiser, Frank Benbini and Naim Cortazzi.
Morgan and Leiser formed the band in 1993 with Steve Borgovini.
But despite Morgan’s comments we get the feeling this is going to be a pretty epic tour!
Tickets are on sale today.
