Coolangatta: California punk rockers Pennywise will fly the freak flag at “The Cooly” on December 6 for a side show as part of the Good Things Festival tour.
The boys are touring the country with fellow emo juggernauts Fall Out Boy and Limpbizkit for alt-rock festival, Good Things, which hits Brisbane Showgrounds on December 3.
Formed in 1988 in the South Bay of Los Angeles – a neighbourhood with a rich punk-rock history – Pennywise has amassed a huge international following with their relentless touring and favoured melodic, high-energy sound which fuses classic punk, surf punk, and blistering hardcore.
Throughout the years, Pennywise has solidified their place in punk history with 12 studio albums and several punchy, stand-out songs such as, “Fuck Authority”, “Alien”, and “Bro Hymn” (their timeless ode to brotherhood and departed friends).
The band, who resolutely work outside the margins of mainstream, continue to prove themselves as an enduring, vibrant staple on the world-wide punk-rock circuit.
Catch Pennywise on December 6 at Coolangatta Hotel, 70 Marine Pde, Coolangatta, Gold Coast. Tickets: https://tickets.oztix.com.au.
