The Sunshine Coast is fast-tracking to becoming a global entertainment drawcard with punk giants PENNYWISE and MILLENCOLIN announcing a co-headline tour which includes The Station on February 25.

They will also play at Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on February 26.

It comes as the former Nightquarter venue continues to attract massive names with PNAU, Two Door Cinema Club, The Dreggs, Pete Murray, Amyl and The Sniffers, Ziggy Alberts, Rudimental, and the Ministry of Sound, all yet to hit the Birtinya stage in the coming months.

Punk greats will visit Australian metro and regional cities

Pioneering California dynamos PENNYWISE and beloved Swedish trailblazers MILLENCOLIN kick off their tour in Wollongong, before hitting Newcastle, the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth

A band synonymous with punk rock and thought-provoking lyricism, PENNYWISE erupted out of the vibrant coastal setting of Hermosa Beach, California.

Their self-titled debut album hit shelves in 1991, cultivating a sweltering legacy with their unique blend of DIY spirit, hardcore, skate punk and SoCal pop punk.

Renowned for their ability to fuse raw emotion and ravenous energy, with themes of empowerment and rallying calls for change, PENNYWISE encapsulates the essence of rebellion.

With anthems such as “Bro Hymn” and “Fuck Authority”, the band has remained as fundamental to punk-rock and hardcore as stage dives and guitars.

With twelve studio albums, including their Certified Gold records “About Time” (1995), “Full Circle” (1997) and “Straight Ahead” (1999), PENNYWISE has showcased their formidable onstage presence across the globe for decades.

Alongside the biggest names in the scene, they most recently supported the Dropkick Murphys for a huge North American tour, and also for Aussie audiences at last year’s Good Things Festival.

Swedish punk-rock icons MILLENCOLIN put punk on the map

For over 30 years, Swedish icons MILLENCOLIN vividly put punk music on the map.

With their original lineup still in tact since their formation in 1992, MILLENCOLIN‘s debut album “Tiny Tunes” (1994) opened the floodgates that would shape the quartet’s staggering career.

Skyrocketing their popularity courtesy of the 2000 full-length “Pennybridge Pioneers”, the rock-infused dive beyond the band’s earlier skate-punk and ska leanings would ultimately spawn iconic tracks like “No Cigar” and “Penguins & Polarbears”.

They achieved infamy with “No Cigar’s” addition to the soundtrack of “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2”, and ultimately finding the overall album scoring an ARIA Platinum certification.

One of punk-rock’s most famed and favourite acts to emerge out of Europe, MILLENCOLIN has played thousands of shows around the world, including as part of Warped Tour, Soundwave Festival and Big Day Out.

They’ve sold out headline shows with the likes of Bad Religion and The Offspring.
