Calling all R’n’B, hip-hop and reggae lovers for Promiseland 2023!
The festival will make all the promises on September 30- October 1.
With a whole new multi-genre concept, expect unmissable reggae, hip-hop, and alternative artists, over two days from September 30-October 1.
The perfect prelude to our warmer season, Promiseland brings to Main Beach a live-music experience like no other. And it celebrates everything that makes the invigorating and effervescent sounds of our continental multi-verse.
It’s also Australia’s first music festival to blend the intersecting rhythms of Afrobeats. But also Amapiano, which loosely translates to “the pianos“, and is a South African subgenre of house music.
Lauryn Hill, Davido and Tems to headline Promiseland
On this killer line-up is headliner US Queen of Rap Lauryn Hill (pictured), American-born Nigerian singer Davido, and Tems – a Nigerian singer and songwriter who rose to prominence with her 2020 single “Essence”.
They’ll be joined by fellow promising acts Fireboy DML, L.A.B, Ayra Starr, Koffee, ONEFOUR, and several more.
Promoters say this weave of musical genres and subcultures has gained unparalleled popularity across the Australian and global music scenes in the last decade, as numerous internationally-renowned artists tap into sounds beyond their borders.
More than just the music
They say Promiseland is not just about music. It moves beyond the all-star artists and DJs into a scenic park-setting and immersive space with a spirited collective ambiance.
Promiseland will take over the beach-side Doug Jennings Park, offering a warm cultural vibe. There’s also a luxury VIP area and even the Promise Village. The village will host a “party haven” outside the main stage, boasting a showcase of our country’s best sideshow acts. The village is also set to be filled with markets, stalls and lounges.
Make sure to gather up your fellow reggae and hip-hop lovers to prepare for an unmissable weekend. And one which is sure to kick off your best summer yet.
Promiseland Festival 2023 is on September 30 and October 1 at Doug Jennings Park, Main Beach. Single-day and full weekend tickets are on sale now.
