Sunny Side Up returns to Aussie World with What So Not and Pendulum headlining

May 21, 20263 min read

What So Not, Pendulum DJ Set and Hot Dub Time Machine are set to headline Sunny Side Up when the festival returns to Aussie World on September 5.

Sunny Side Up is heading back to Aussie World, taking over three stages from 5pm to 10pm with bigger production and a stacked lineup of electronic, dance and festival acts.

The first lineup drop includes What So Not, Pendulum DJ Set, Hot Dub Time Machine, Anna Lunoe, Habstrakt, Latifa Tee, Raw Ordio and Yussi, with more acts still to be announced.

The September edition follows the event’s sold-out Easter Saturday show at the same site, with organisers now pushing the brand into a larger festival format built for locals and visitors.

The announcement also lands as the team continues a wider Queensland rollout beyond the Sunshine Coast, with more regional dates still to be announced.

Festival energy on the Sunshine Coast

Sunny Side Up promoter Jordan Small said demand for large-scale electronic and festival events outside the capital cities had been strong across South East Queensland and regional Queensland.

“We’re seeing massive interest across South East Queensland and regional Queensland for proper festival-style events. The response to our Sunshine Coast shows, and now to places like Airlie Beach, Rockhampton and the Gold Coast, has shown us people are ready for more.”

He said the Coast remained the home base for the brand, with the September event designed as a full-scale festival experience.

“The last Sunny Side Up showed us there’s a real appetite for proper festival experiences on the Coast. We’re not trying to do a small party — we’re building a full-scale music festival with headline acts, big production and a setting that feels different to anywhere else.”

He said the Aussie World precinct gave the event room to grow while keeping the experience distinct.

“Aussie World is such a strong location for this. It’s not a standard nightclub or flat field. It gives the event character, space and a real destination feel. For September, we’re stepping things up again.”

Presale signups open from 5pm on May 21, with presale tickets from $49 plus booking fee available from 5pm on May 26.
