Jeff Martin from Canadian rock band The Tea Party will perform at The Presynct on February 8.
Jeff, who has been residing on the Sunshine Coast for the past few years, will perform a selection of Tea Party favourites, as well as some of his brilliant solo works.
As Nambour continues to pull major international acts, Jeff says he is excited to play in his local music trap.
“I’m looking forward to playing an intimate show at The Presynct,” Jeff says.
“It’s fast becoming a hot spot for live music on the Sunshine Coast which is brimming with amazing artists.
“I’m also aware that The Presynct has a solid sound production in house, so get ready my friends, it’s gonna get loud!”
Jeff has not played these songs live in solo format for a year, making this show a rare treat for locals.
It will also be the perfect warm-up show, before he heads to Canada to perform more solo sets, and tour with Canada’s Theory Of A Deadman.

Nambour continues to shine as Sunshine Coast capital of music
Nambour has been a regional hotspot for touring artists in recent times, including the UK’s Peter and The Test Tube Babies and Poison Ruin, from the US.
Both bands played at Black Box Theatre, where ARIA Music Award-winning hardcore band SPEED was due to play last week, but sadly cancelled amid a family tragedy.
The Presynct, where Jeff is performing, is also a major incubator and supporter of emerging local talent.
Run by music industry goddesses Rusty and Cherry (pictured) The Presynct not only serves up a bangin’ cocktail list, but also original live music.
Recently celebrating its first birthday, the new favourite live music venue put local producer OJ Newcomb, of Yama-Nui, at the booking helm last year. And OJ continues to bring in some beautifully curated shows.
The eclectic, coastal-hinterland-music-loving crowd here seeks serious talent only. And it comes from far and wide, from a range of incredible local and global touring acts.

Jeff Martin labelled as ‘child prodigy’ and ‘virtuoso guitarist’
Jeff’s life has been an exquisite journey through many cultures.
He’s been labelled everything from “child prodigy” and “virtuoso guitarist” to “lead singer with perfect pitch”.
He has a hunger for knowledge of art, history, the esoteric, music and melody. And he has lived in exotic places such as Egypt, Turkey, Prague, Italy, Ireland.
But it’s Australia where Jeff now calls home.
His Sunshine Coast home and studio are filled with ancient instruments, which he collected on his travels throughout the Middle East, and India’s sub-continents.
He has enjoyed learning from the culture’s many masters themselves, and can play all of them fluently.
As an artist that transcends typical musical genres, Jeff has become somewhat of a musical healer for his fans.
Where Jeff’s appearance, voice and singing style draws comparisons to Jim Morrison, his band The Tea Party get compared to Led Zeppelin.

The Tea Party’s heavy-rock-blues with psychedelic influences
The Tea Party offer a wide variety of instruments and sound textures, with heavy rock
and blues of the 1970s. With psychedelic influences, they also have elements of Middle Eastern, Celtic and Mediterranean music.
Almost 30 years and four million record sales later, Jeff’s unique life path, musical etymology and output have placed him in a high caliber as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer while garnering acclaim from music industry stalwarts.
Last year, Jeff toured with The Tea Party, as well as some Australian solo shows, performing “The Songs Of David Bowie”.
Jeff released music with Puerto Rican singer/songwriter Jhayco and Malcolm Clark (ex-The Sleepy Jackson), under the name Jeff Martin 777, in 2010.
They toured Canada, then Australia in 2011, where it was announced The Tea Party‘s reunion would remain permanent.
Jeff Martin’s live solo performances sell out quickly.
