Maroochydore: Coastal indie-folk singer/songwriter Felipe Baldomir is often referred to as a blend of Jack Johnson, Xavier Rudd and Tash Sultana.
Based in Byron Bay, his coastal sound travels from the folk world of open-tunings, harmonica, and steady power beats to an upbeat soundscape of groovy guitar riffs, loops, punchy saxophone runs, keys and warm vocals.
The South American favourite has been in Australia since 2018, where he converted a van into a rolling home and studio, performing across country.
From busking in the streets to playing backyard shows and supporting local musicians such as Jack Botts, Kim Churchill and The Dreggs, Baldomir has sold out shows around Australia, playing festivals such as NYE On The Hill and Roadtrip Festival.
Last summer, Baldomir completed his fifth headline Australian tour and released singles, Chasing The Sun and Free.
After wrapping up the Aussie tour, he rolled into another campervan on the other side of the world to continue his tour across Europe, the UK and South America.
The European summer saw him playing 42 shows across the continent, including iconic festivals such as Tunes in the Dunes (UK) and Kieler Woche (Germany).
Following his recent release, Together we Fly, and a tour of South America, Baldomir has announced his latest track, You, and a national Australian tour this October-November.
Do you ever stop, Baldomir? We can’t wait to see you!
Felipe Baldomir will be at Solbar, Friday, November 17 from 7pm. Sol Bar is at Ocean Street, Maroochydore.
