  • 2500 PAX
  • Southbank-style parkland
  • Expected early 2026

Move over Eatons Hill and Sandstone Point Hotels.

Younger sibling Aura Hotel will soon make its way to town in a major flex for the Sunshine Coast.

Local rockstar developers, The Comiskey Group, today released new artist impressions of the $45 million Aura Hotel.

When completed it is set to be the largest live music venue in the region.

What we can expect

The Mediterranean-style hotel will be built 10 minutes from Caloundra at Stockland’s Aura – City of Colour, and can hold up to 2500 music punters.

There will be internal and alfresco dining areas, six bars across three levels, a gaming room and
multiple function spaces.

Director Rob Comiskey says Aura Hotel will see a revolving door of local talent, and international acts too.

“We’ve had artists from Prince to Post Malone play at our venues, every genre, for every demographic.

“We are already thinking about the live music experience, meticulously planning the design of the live band room and world-class production.

“Capable of hosting 2500 fans, the experience will be both epic and intimate.”

Have your say on the design

“We’ve been making significant changes to the initial design concept over the last few months,” Rob says.

“We shifted focus, basing the concept around thoughtfully-designed landscaping and bold architecture, adding more wow-factor from the façade and throughout.

“It’s going to be a beast! If you’re a fan of our Eatons Hill Hotel and Sandstone Point Hotel properties, you’ll definitely be excited for Aura Hotel.”

Rob wants the community to have their say too on the design.

Community weighs in

Buderim musician and high school teacher Drew Wilson welcomes the new venue.

“Having a new world-class facility on the Coast that will hopefully attract world-class artists can only be a positive for local musicians and fans.”

The Comiskey Group recently received development approval for its large holiday resort at Coochin Creek, AKA the “Coachella”-style, 150-hectare festival site, Coochin Fields.

Last year they were responsible for opening garden-themed venue, The Doonan near Noosa, and purchasing The Imperial Hotel and HOLA Boutique Accommodation at Eumundi.

They are also behind the new Dakabin Hotel, which is expected to have its own basketball court.

Settlement on the property is expected later this year and Aura Hotel is likely to be completed by early 2026.
