A $1.85 million leasehold deal for Nambour’s Royal George Hotel has raised fresh questions about the future of neighbouring entertainment venue The Vogue.
The current CRE Brokers listing for the Royal George Hotel is now headed “UNCONDITIONAL”, after the long-running Currie Street pub was offered to the market as a leasehold opportunity.
The listing carries a leasehold price of $1.85 million and specifically references adjoining The Vogue, describing it as one of the region’s largest indoor function and event spaces.

The deal relates to the hotel leasehold rather than a confirmed sale of the freehold property. The incoming operator has not yet been publicly identified in the material reviewed by YELO.
Could The Vogue finally reopen?
The deal gives fresh weight to the possibility of another chapter for The Vogue, which has remained largely quiet since its short-lived return to entertainment use in 2024.
The historic theatre was restored before reopening in March 2024, with plans to bring touring acts, local performers and community events back into the landmark Currie Street space.

Its first revival was brief. In June 2024, venue operators announced a change in management and cancelled upcoming events, leaving the future of the space uncertain.
But in correspondence with YELO in November 2025, Royal George Hotel owner Trent Laing said new lessees would be reopening The Vogue “in the not-too-distant future”.
The latest Royal George listing is the clearest public sign since then that change around the site is progressing, although there is still no confirmed reopening date for The Vogue.
A major piece of Nambour’s live music puzzle
The Royal George and The Vogue sit in the heart of Nambour’s Special Entertainment Precinct, an area designed to support restaurants, bars, theatres, nightclubs and amplified live music.
For Nambour, a functioning Vogue would add a large-format room to a scene already building around smaller venues, new hospitality projects and a growing concentration of live music in the CBD. YELO recently looked at the wider changes reshaping the town centre here.
CRE Brokers says the Royal George opportunity includes 27 gaming machines, 14 accommodation rooms, food and beverage operations, a retail bottleshop and two detached bottleshops, alongside the adjoining Vogue entertainment venue.
What remains unclear is who will take over the leasehold, when the handover will occur and exactly what role The Vogue will play under the new operator.
