Big Pineapple Festival

Big Pineapple Festival is one of the Sunshine Coast’s biggest music events, bringing major Australian acts, large festival crowds and a very specific amount of pineapple chaos to Woombye.

The festival takes over Pineapple Fields beside the Big Pineapple landmark, with multiple stages, camping and a lineup that moves between rock, indie, hip-hop and dance.

We’re watching the pineapple.

As of August 2026, Big Pineapple Festival has not announced a 2026 date or lineup.

YELO has been keeping an eye on the festival after a very Piney collaboration between Raw Ordio and festival founder Mark Pico gave locals something to overanalyse. It is not confirmation, but yes, we noticed.

Last time around

The festival celebrated 10 years in 2025

Big Pineapple Festival returned to Woombye on November 1, 2025 for its 10-year anniversary, led by Hilltop Hoods, The Cat Empire, The Jungle Giants, PNAU, Polaris, SIX60 and Thelma Plum.

The event also expanded its dance offering with the Superlove Arena while keeping the festival’s local traditions intact.

Festival feel

What it’s like

Piney is a proper field festival rather than a neat venue show. Expect big crowds, multiple stages, long days, costumes, camping and a genre mix that can shift without much warning.

For the Sunshine Coast, it is also one of the clearest examples of a homegrown event becoming a genuine Queensland festival destination.
