After months of silence and speculation, a new collaboration between Raw Ordio and festival founder Mark Pico has sent the local pineapple radar twitching.

Raw Ordio may have just dropped the tiniest Big Pineapple Festival Easter egg.

The Sunshine Coast electronic act announced its new single, “Far Away”, featuring festival founder and director Mark Pico, this morning.

Whether the next Piney announcement is also “far away” remains to be seen.

Naturally, the timing has given local music fans something juicy to overanalyse.

To be completely clear, this is not a Big Pineapple Festival announcement.

No 2026 date has been revealed. There is no lineup, and the festival’s official website is still displaying information for its November 1, 2025 event.

The collaboration confirms absolutely nothing about the festival’s future.

Still, YELO has been asked for months whether we know what is happening with Piney.

Then Raw Ordio drops a track featuring the man behind it.

Of course we noticed.

When YELO asked in the comments, “Hey Pico, when’s the other announcement!? 📣🍍😍”, Raw Ordio replied: “Good question.”

Nooooo, it’s not confirmation. Unfortunately.

But it is not exactly nothing either.

A Very Piney Collaboration

Raw Ordio already has close ties to Big Pineapple Festival.

The act appeared at the festival’s new Superlove Arena in 2025 and also helped kick off the campground entertainment on the Friday night.

Pico, meanwhile, has been at the centre of Big Pineapple Festival since its early years and remains its founder and festival director.

The new track could simply be a group of Sunshine Coast musicians making music together.

It could also be the smallest pineapple-shaped sign of life after months of silence.

Does “Far Away” confirm that a 2026 Big Pineapple Festival announcement is coming?

No.

Is it enough to keep one eye firmly on the large fruit?
