Weekend guide
Looking for something to do on the Sunshine Coast this weekend?
YELO’s latest weekend guide pulls together live music, arts, festivals and local culture picks from across the region, with a mix of headline shows, smaller gigs and community-facing events worth knowing about.

This week’s picks include The Planting Festival at Woodfordia, with three days of music, art, talks, workshops and tree-planting from May 1–3 at Woodford, just outside the Sunshine Coast. The event sits somewhere between a festival, a cultural gathering and a reset in the bush. Friday night’s music program looks promising, with Tjaka and Pat Kenny, who is pictured.
Closer to the coast, Horizon Festival opens its 2026 program across the region, with live music, performance, visual art, talks, community events and family-friendly programming running from Friday, May 1 to Sunday, May 10.

There are also plenty of live music picks in the mix, including Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls with Bowling For Soup at Blackflag Brewing, The Grogans at Norton Music Factory, and a stack of Sunday sessions including Yacht Rock Holiday, MONSTR: The Best of MTV Unplugged and Jazz in the Forest.
And don’t miss the all-ages gig Pretty Fly for a Bli Bli at Bli Bli Hall on Saturday, with Calan Mai leading what should be a cosy night of stories and song.
For more live music, the page also links through to YELO’s Sunshine Coast Gig Guide, where more venue listings and upcoming shows can be found across the region. You can also explore the wider Sunshine Coast live music venues guide for more local rooms and venue pages.
To keep up with the latest local gig picks, listen to YELO on ABC Sunshine Coast on Tuesdays.
