Solbar to close tomorrow, Daily J and Great Gable gigs postponed

March 5, 20251 min read

Maroochydore’s premier live music venue Solbar will close tomorrow amid torrential weather as Cyclone Alfred nears the Sunshine Coast.

The venue announced the news on Wednesday, saying Friday’s Great Gable and Saturday’s Daily J gigs will be postponed.

It comes as Green Day‘s Gold Coast show tonight has been cancelled, and Saturday’s New Bloom Fest in Brisbane.

The Drain and One Step Closer gig at Kings Beach Tavern has also been scrapped.

Keep an eye on our Sunshine Coast Gig & Event Guide for more updates here: https://yelo.live/whats-on-sunshine-coast-gig-guide/.

Solbar’s announcement says: “We’re gonna shut Thursday due to the cyclone sitch.

“After that, we’re gonna wait to see how we’re tracking and we’ll update yas as soon as we make a call.

“Thursday & Saturday’s bands (Daily J & Great Gable) have made the call to move their shows to a co-headline on April 9th (See our earlier post from this morn for deets).

“Considering the forecasting we’ll still be open tonight for Open Mic, so come get ya fix of live music & great company before we hunker down – might be the last night out we get for a coupla days so let’s make it count 🤘.”

Be sure to check with promoters if you have a show this weekend and you are unsure if it’s going ahead.
