Love a big-name artist? Find a Queensland act you can actually go and see. Start with a familiar sound, then follow it somewhere local.
These are listening tips, not soundalike claims or endorsements from the bigger artists. Put the first track on and decide for yourself.

Not literally. But In a 1993 interview, Nirvana learned their tickets were around US$17–18. Plenty of Queensland bands are still playing local rooms for around the price of a couple of drinks. The point of this page is to help you find the band you love before the ticket costs arena money.

Start with an artist you already know, then try a Queensland act sitting somewhere in the same orbit. Try Tullara. This is a roots-guitar and storytelling match, not a claim that the two sound alike. Based in Cairns, Tullara moves between folk, rock and pop with a powerful voice and formidable guitar work. Start with “Never Been Loved By You”.
