Nambour Black Market Day will bring live music, vintage finds and DIY culture to The Old Ambo on April 18.
Bad Habit Records, Guerrilla Booking and World Rot have teamed up for the one-day festival which celebrates independent creativity in the heart of Nambour.
The event aims to boost the local creative economy and create a sustainable model for future events that centre indie music, artists and innovators.
Stallholders will be selling vintage clothes, vinyl records, toys, comics, original artwork, zines and more, from 8am. While the live music program, which leans into punk, rock and alternative sounds, kicks off at midday.
A major drawcard will be the final-ever show from local punk favourites Just Say Go, whose roots go back to early performances in local halls and sports clubs across the Sunshine Coast. Their farewell set in is likely to be a big moment for longtime fans.
Also on the bill are Sick People, who will launch a new discography LP through Bad Habit Records as part of the event. The release marks 15 years of the band and pulls together early demos and EP material from across their catalogue.
The full lineup features Just Say Go, Sick People, Time Peace, Bright Sun, Human Condition, Valve, Leaker, No Allegiance, Stepback and Precious Rest.
‘A love letter to DIY culture’

Bad Habit Records owner and manager Aaron Borg describes the event as “a love letter to DIY culture – a place where vinyl hunters, vintage lovers and live music fans can collide”.
“Punters will make new friends, catch up with old ones, hatch harebrained schemes, form bands and be part of an exciting scene,” he says.
“We wanted to create a space that celebrates independent creators and gives bands a proper stage to connect with their people.
“The Old Ambo is the perfect backdrop: gritty, local and full of personality. It’s a real nexus of exciting culture right now.”
